Danger Mike Yeo- By: Jesse Bell

The Flyers have been playing better under the leadership of interim coach, Mike Yeo, currently with a record of 13-13-6. Some issues look like they’re coming to the surface but are just happening at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Keith Yandle is a particular Flyer in a negative spotlight as of late and this is due to performance issues. I for one, was sold at the announcement of Yandle's signing but it has yet panned out for the orange and black. Too many turn overs with a dash of gripping his stick a bit too tight had led to an all-out abandonment by the fanbase.

The fanbase is forgetting why Yandle was brought here and I think Mike Yeo is finally sensing it as well. He’s a power play QB… use him that way. This is something AV refused to do. Yandle isn’t a top D pairing defenseman and a strict stay-at-home D-man. Keep him there and all shall work.

Accountability is something that needs to enter that locker room. Now, we’re not in there with the team, nor am I saying Claude Giroux isn’t tearing into some players demanding results, the lower lines are getting it done while the top lines are struggling. Players like Max Willman, Scott Laughton, Nate Thompson, Zack MacEwen, Oskar Lindblom, Morgan Frost, Patrick Brown and Travis Konecny are grinding these plays out and coming out with results.

I think a total shift change is in order and I think you need to start getting these grinders up onto higher lines to solidify a heavier and more confident zone entry.

Last topic would be goaltending, But I still feel like it's too early to jump ship on Martin Jones. I can say, the conversation is trending in a negative direction.

Carter Hart and the rest of the Covid protocol list return to the lineup for the next game against the Ducks, so only time will tell what is in store for The Boys of Broad Street!
