The Anaheim Ducks received bad news this week as Jamie Drysdale will be out with a torn labrum for 4-6 months. The defensive core is already with Urho Vaakanianen. What is GM Pat Verbeek going to do? He could bring up a defenseman from San Diego or possibly trade for one.

The Ducks were able to snap a seven game losing streak, but now will have to go without their upcoming young defenseman. The team has struggled defensively this season playing at even strength and during special teams play as well.

If the team is going to turn it around after the slow start, then they are going to need to improve their defensive play. One has to wonder if a trade may be on the horizon. It's your move Verbeek.
