Phillies Dominate Baltimore Again

A strong pitching performance by Taijuan Walker, and Max Kepler and Brandon Marsh each knocked in a pair of runs, as the Phillies shutout the Baltimore Orioles, 5-0 at Citizens Bank Park.

Philadelphia roughed up Orioles starter, Dean Kremer, in the bottom of the second inning. Nick Castellanos got a one-out broken bat single, then after a balk, it was center fielder Brandon Marsh roping a double to right field that scored Castellanos, and made it 1-0 Phillies.

Then, Max Kepler, whose start surprised some people, launched his 12th home run of the year, as it landed in the first row just over the right field wall, and that made the score, 3-0.

In the bottom of the fourth, it was Kepler hitting a leadoff double, then Bryson Stott just missed a home run by about six inches, and instead hit a stand-up triple, that made it a 4-0 game.

Marsh tacked on the Phillies 5th run, as he hit home run #6, a long one to deep right center.

Walker was brillant tonight, as he went six shutout innings, and he allowed only four hits and no walks, while striking out four.

Orion Kerkering, Matt Strahm and Max Lazar closed the door, as they struck out six batters in the three innings pitched in relief.

Up next for Phillies
