Division Talk NFC East
We are back with Divison Talk and today was are talking the NFC East. That being said let’s get it out of the way. Yes, hahaEast rhymes with Least and three out of the four teams in this division are going to be in that mid to God awful category this season we get it. But, we get it but we need to talk about the division to progress through division talk. So, let’s work together to stomach saying nice things about the Cowboys and we can all get out of here and get something to eat. Fair? No? Well too bad here we go.
New York Giants:
I started with team because it will take the least amount of time to type. This team is bad and it feels intentional. I feel like the front office has a meeting and makes this team bad on purpose to laugh at the fans. Offensively, there are no redeeming qualities other than Saquon Barkey and Kadarius Toney but the o-line is atrocious. They did get Evan Neal in the 2022 draft so that will help. Until you remember Daniel Jones is under center. HOWEVER, defensively this team could make some noise adding Kayvon Thibodeaux to a defensive front that has a top five defensive lineman in Leonard Williams they could cause a lot of problems for quarterbacks (Mostly one name Carson Wentz). The secondary is a little iffy but the Giants have some ballers back there if they can provide good enough coverage and give the defensive front enough time to do what they need to do this defense will be scary. BUT, don’t get me wrong. It is going to be a LONG 17 games for the Giants and they will be last place in the worst division in football.
Washington Commanders:
I’ll be honest, the name Football Team was growing on me. That’s my biggest complaint about this team. Why? Why take so much joy away from us like that? The NFL needs that lightning rod team to make fun of and while the Cowboys are the undisputed champions of teams that everyone will hate it was a nice change of pace to say there is an NFL football team that is called the Football Team. Look how I had to lowercase it just now. It is so sad, just look at it, football team. How lame. The name Commanders make it seem like I am watching a football team in the Marvel universe and Captain America is going to come out and give a speech about how concessions are two beers for the price of one. While that would be valuable information and would take advantage of that, I WANT TO TALK TO FANS OF THESE TEAM AND I WANT THEM TO LOOK ME IN THE EYES AND SAY MY FAVORITE TEAM IS CALLED THE FOOTBALL TEAM. Is that so much to ask? I may have over done the name thing just a little bit sorry. Anyway, Carson Wents is the quarterback of this team so RIP Terry McLaurin. Defense is alright ESPECIALLY the D-line but they’ll finish third.
Dallas Cowboys:
This may be the shortest one out of all of these I will write. They’ll finish second in the division and possibly slide into the Wild Card spot. I know I know! But hold your vomit in for a little longer and bear with me. Let’s be honest Dak is a good quarterback and CeeDee Lamb is THAT guy. Then you add the emergence of Dalton Schultz, obviously Zeke and one of the best O-lines in the league and you have a good-looking offense. The defense though. Lord have mercy, Michah Parsons is just, wow y’know. It is hard to hate a gut THAT good, you really have to try to hate a player like that. Your favorite team could be down three with two minutes left against the Cowboys then Parsons seal the game with a sack and you’ll sit there like, “Yea I mean kids a monster what are you gonna do?” BUT, I will not sit here and say Trevon Diggs is like that. Ok fine he had 11interceptions last season and that is something I can’t take away from him. HE did that doesn’t matter who he picked off because people do not ask how they ask how many and that’s that. He is just not that good defensively. 1-on-1 pick any of the top 30 receivers in the league and he is getting beat. Could he correct those mistakes this season he absolutely could in fact I want him to. Mostly because it is his job but I want to see good players make themselves better. But as it is right now, he is not as good as the interceptions say. The Cowboys will finish second in the division and we should be thankful for this last team we’ll go over because they are what is stopping Cowboys fans from making our winter miserable.
Philadelphia Eagles:
FLY EAGLES FLY!!! The Eagles are back and it is time to celebrate. Jalen Hurts is an NFL quarterback, the offensive lineis incredible and Hurts has to decide to throw the ball to either A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith or Dallas Goedert. This offense is going to absolutely TORCH people that much we know. No one is talking about this defense enough though. Darius Slay, James Bradberry, Anthony Harris, Marcus Epps, Haason Reddick, Kyzir White, Nakobe Dean, T.J.Edwards, Josh Sweat, Javon Hargrave, Jordan Davis, Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham. Get used to seeing and hearing those names because they are going to be a vicious defense. I legit would not be surprised if they led the league in sacks and takeaways. If you want to try to “establish the run game” against this team LOL GOOD LUCK because you not running between the tackles and not chance your outside runs succeed because their linebacking core is literally a bunch of sharks and swarm to the ball to feed. Then if you even think about airing it out this secondary will make your favorite teams quarterback want the field to open up and swallow him so he won’t have to play. Slay and Bradberry are very physical defensive backs that can shut down your favorite receiver with ease. Then behind them you have two absolute ball hawks with Harris and Epps. There no one (In this division at least) That can stop the Eagles and will win the NFC East and if all goes well could end up in the conference championship.
