Wolves Salute Admirals With Strong Weekend Statement

Rosemont, Ill. — The Chicago Wolves delivered one of their most complete weekends of the season, knocking off the Milwaukee Admirals twice in two nights and showcasing the kind of depth, pace and resilience that can reshape a divisional race.

Friday: Wolves Outgun Admirals 6–4

The opening game of the weekend played out like a track meet — fast, physical, and full of momentum swings — and Chicago handled the chaos with confidence.

The Wolves struck early and often, building a multi-goal lead thanks to a sharp transition game and a relentless forecheck that repeatedly forced Milwaukee into mistakes. Justin Robidas was the driving force, scoring twice and setting up another as the Wolves built a cushion that proved vital later in the night.

Milwaukee pushed back, especially on special teams, trimming the lead in the third period. But Chicago answered both responses with timely goals — including a clutch finish from Bradly Nadeau and a blue-line blast from Aleksi Heimosalmi — to keep the Admirals at arm’s length and secure a high-energy 6–4 win.

Saturday: Chicago Completes the Sweep With 5–2 Victory

Twenty-four hours later, the Wolves looked even more composed.

Saturday’s game began tighter than the night before, with both teams trading goals and chances through the opening 40 minutes. But the Wolves controlled the crucial moments, scoring early in the third period to break a 2–2 tie and never letting Milwaukee regain momentum.

Noel Gunler jump-started the final push with a hard-driving play to the net, and Robidas followed with another well-placed finish on an odd-man rush. Nadeau sealed the game late, capping a weekend where he consistently generated offense from all over the ice.

Chicago’s forecheck again frustrated Milwaukee, forcing turnovers that turned into odd-man opportunities. The Wolves’ defensive structure tightened in the third, limiting the Admirals’ chances and helping close out the sweep.

What the Sweep Reveals

  • Depth is becoming a strength. Rather than relying on one line, Chicago saw contributions throughout the lineup — and great forecheck pressure the whole weekend.

  • Special teams swung momentum when needed. Even when Milwaukee capitalized on power-play opportunities Friday, Chicago responded quickly at even strength.

  • Division positioning. The Wolves with the two wins moved into 3rd place in the Central tied with Milwaukee.

Up Next for Chicago

The Wolves now shift their attention to a quick turnaround in the schedule:

  • Saturday: A road rematch in Milwaukee, where the Admirals will undoubtedly be looking for payback in front of their home fans.

  • Sunday: Chicago returns to Allstate Arena to host the Grand Rapids Griffins, who are leading the Central Division at 19-0-1-1. The Wolves handed them their only shootout loss on the season.

With momentum on their side and several players heating up, Chicago enters the upcoming stretch looking every bit like a team on the rise — and one capable of turning a mid-season spark into something much bigger.
