Wheeling Nailers: Aidan Sutter Re-Signs

On July 15th, 2025, Wheeling Nailers, ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, announced that they have re-signed defenseman Aidan Sutter for the 2025-2026 season.

The 22-year-old British Columbia native came to the Nailers during the second half of the 2024-2025 season. Sutter began his year at the University of Calgary dressing in three games and tallying one assist. Appearing in 17 regular season games for Wheeling, Sutter earned two assists, one of those assists coming against Tulsa and the other coming against Toledo. In December of 2023, Sutter was acquired by the Nailers via trade with the Florida Everblades. Prior to going back to the University of Calgary, Sutter was signed to the Everblades and dressed in six games for them. Sutter was extended a qualifying offer by the Nailers in the summer of 2024.

Before coming into the professional ranks, Sutter played in the Western Hockey League for four seasons. He was signed to a contract with the Everrett Silvertips in March of 2019. He appeared in 183 games for the Silvertips and netted 11 goals with 49 assists over the span of games. He assisted the Silvertips in 11 postseason games collectively and notched six assists.
