The Flyers Still Injury Prone!- By: Jesse Bell

The Flyers wrapped up week 1 of their 2021-22 season not too shabby. They went 2-1-1, which honestly, showed there have been some serious changes to this team on offense and defense. The shoot first mentality has arrive for the first time in over a decade and the defense has been solidified as well with the additions of Yandle, Ellis and Ristolainen. That being said, the injury bug bit early with Allison, Morin and Hayes but now it seems every other night someone else is out.

Ryan Ellis was out in last night’s bout against the still undefeated Florida Panthers. Which, in my opinion, had a huge effect on the game leading up to the 4-2 loss. Ristolainen was injured in the home opener as well against the Vancouver Canucks which ended with a loss in overtime.

Hopefully, Ellis is ready to go this coming week as they enter their first Canadian away trip, the team definitely needs their viking defenseman back. Things aren’t always clear when it comes to our boys in orange and black but hopefully, these little stints are just some normal growing pains and not the beginning of something bigger and darker for a very promising season of Flyers hockey .
