Division talk - AFC South
The AFC South is a little tricky because none of the teams are that good but none of them are that bad. There are redeeming qualities on each of these teams and it is still fairly predictable but all four of these teams are about to have weird seasons.
Houston Texans:
You guys are still rebuilding so I do not expect much out of you. You're trending in the right direction but still a good couple years out from doing anything significant. But you will steal a game you are supposed to lose so you have got that to look forward to. Davis Mills might even surprise most of you and show that he deserves to be under center of an NFL team and the defense will be able to put it together for a couple of games but yea this franchise is going to be in this spot for a while.
Jacksonville Jaguars:
Something about this team screams five wins. Ridding yourself of a coach that would not fly back with the team after a loss to party at his own bar and hit on college girls while pictures of him and his wife are literally everywhere, just says were good enough to win five games. Urban Meyer in all honesty was the biggest reason the Jags gained no traction throughout the season. His accomplishments at the college football level are something I have to give the man credit for and that is fair. But when it comes to coaching at the next level, he is no leader. Doug Peterson not only has proven to be a great leader of a team as a head coach in the NFL but he won a Super Bowl as a head coach. Peterson is exactly the coach the Jags need and he will be a great coach for Trevor Lawrence and that alone is good enough to win at least three games. Getting Travis Etienne back will also be a massive boost offensively. The defense, PARTICULARLY Josh Allen, needs to take a big step but at the end of the day, this team has plenty enough talent to win a handful of games.
Tennessee Titans:
Let’s just assume they make the right decision and start Malik Willis in week one and we can all laugh at Ryan Tannehill saying he beat you out right after you said you weren’t going to mentor him. What honestly possessed him to say that? “That’s not my job.” Well, guess what Ryan, you’re not good at your actual job which is to be an effective quarterback without having to rely on play-action and Derrick Henry to move the ball down the field. So why don’t you fill us in as to what exactly your job is then? Willis can do everything Tannehill can and then some so 17 get comfy on the bench because this young man shouldn’t come out of the game. With Willis under center just sit back and enjoy the fireworks man because this kid is going to take the league by storm. Obviously there will be rookie mistakes but they win somewhere between 9-11 games and possibly sneak into the wild card spot.
Indianapolis Colts:
Matty Ice baby, He was the key all along who would’ve thought? In all seriousness, this will be a fun team to watch this year. They have a great defense (when healthy) with a top 3 linebacker in the league and they have the best running back in the league. Michael Pittman finally has a solid quarterback throwing to him because Matt Ryan can and will take care of the football and put it in spots on his receiver can get it. Mo Allie-Cox is due for a big year especially down in the red zone. Matt Ryan’s arm is not what it used to be but he can still push the ball down the field effectively. This team could easily win 13 games in my opinion because each year they have gotten closer and closer and now they will finally be able to put it together.
