The Flyers start up late tomorrow night on an away stint to start off the 2024-25 hockey season and my friends, this past off season has been a roller-coaster ride to say the least. From drafting a kid in Jett Luchanko, that no one had on their radar, to Matvei Michkov making his way to North America, it’s been wild!

The roster has been set as followed:

17 - JETT LUCHANKO

21 - SCOTT LAUGHTON

25 - RYAN POEHLING

27 - NOAH CATES

39 - MATVEI MICHKOV

44 - NICOLAS DESLAURIERS

It was a very interesting rookie camp, rookie games and training camp for the boys of Philadelphia and Torts didn’t disappoint. Had his patented “Rope test" and bag skate galore to welcome in the new and old blood. If you’re not familiar with “The Standard” miniseries, catch this seasons episodes on youtube for an inside look of the players, staff etc.

The vibes in the locker room feel high and the preseason proved that, even though most games weren't fully starting rosters, the compete was definitely among them. The new captain, Sean Couturier, dropped the mitts in defense of the new young gun, Matvei Michkov, giving a breath of old Flyer mentality to the fan base that has been struggling to get a grip on stability with the franchise.

A couple players put on some weight in muscle and bulked up in the off season including defenceman Jamie Drysdale, who in a press conference last week, Torts expressed his importance to the team. Along with Nick Seeler, Garnet Hathaway and Jamie Drysdale, there are a couple of players that have ALOT to prove this year. Being Morgan Frost, Bobby Brink, Noah Cates and Scott Laughton, all have a spotlights on them to increase consistency and gameplay this season.

There is alot to be expected from this young team, players like Owen Tippett and Travis Konecny are expected to have a high scoring year but what of Matvei Michkov and Jett Luchanko? Will Ivan Fedotov be the back up Sam Ersson needs to keep his pressure levels stable or will Alexei Kolosov get his wish and get a top spot with the big team?

Only time will tell and it all starts tomorrow night in Vancouver but one thing is definitely 100% accurate!

Nothing before tomorrow night matters
