NFL Week 2- Three in the Keystone By: Al Ryan

Welcome back to the Three in the Keystone NFL Picks of the Week. Last week, my co-host, Adam, led the charge with a 4-1 week including a win on his best bet selection. I’m going to look to shake off the stink of a 2-3 start and take the throne heading into week 3. However, I will understand that if you think that I’m tanking after reading over my best bet for this week.

Let’s get to the picks.

Adam’s Picks:

Jets +9.5

Ravens +3.5

Falcons +2

Bears +3

Patriots +2.5 (Sterling Pig Brewery BEST BET)

Chris’ Picks:

Packers -2

Bengals -3.5

Cardinals +5.5

Chiefs -3

Bears +3 (Sterling Pig Brewery BEST BET),

Al’s Picks:

  1. Texans +1 - Let’s start with a game that will only be watched by bettors, Houston/Indy residents, and family of the starters. Both teams are coming off a loss and could certainly be in the bottom five teams of the league after week 18. Anthony Richardson had some flashes in his NFL debut, but ultimately gift wrapped the win for the Jags with an untimely fourth quarter pick. Richardson, Shane Steichen, and this Colts team still have some growing pains ahead of them - and they’ll go through another this week losing a road division game to the Texans 17-16.

  2. Falcons +1.5 - Atlanta’s two-headed ground attack of Tyler Allgeier and Bijan Robinson try to move to 2-0 on the season against a surprisingly explosive Green Bay Packer team that spoiled the Bears’ home opener to the tune of a 38-20 drubbing. This is one of those games that seems to be a little of an overreaction to week 1. If Green Bay loses or wins a tight one, are they still favored in this game? I don’t know, but give me the home dog outright 27-24.

  3. Jets/Cowboys under 38.5 - Last week, the Cowboys had the most impressive game of any team in the league, making lives miserable for a soaked New York Giant faithful. They ended up scoring 40 points on their own, and somehow this total is LOWER than that number. Let’s not forget, though, that the Jets have a top five defense in the league and an offense that might struggle to find its footing with Zach Wilson now at the helm. How would you feel having the over in this game, needing the Jets to score a touchdown against Micah Parsons and company with 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter? I sense a Cowboys win, but one that includes some patented Dakota Prescott turnovers, keeping this score nice and low, say 20-12.

  4. Chargers/Titans under 45 - The Chargers opened the season in the most Chargers way possible, scoring 34 points at home and still finding a way to lose in a game that totaled a week high 70 points. The Titans, meanwhile, did not score a touchdown against the Saints, showing signs that the Ryan Tannehill era might be coming to an end sooner rather than later. Three interceptions and no touchdowns was not the start Titans fans expected. While 45 seems low, the Titans defense is still pretty stout, and it would be a tall task for Justin Herbert to hang another 30+ points so soon. Give me 23-10 LA in a game that sees Will Levis taking snaps before the final whistle.

  5. Giants -5.5 (Sterling Pig Brewery BEST BET) - If you watch our show or listen to the podcast, you’ll know I’m a big EBBS & FLOWS guy when it comes to the regular season. The Giants are coming off the biggest shutout loss to the Cowboys in franchise history. A game in which they looked absolutely inept and unready to play football in all aspects of the game. The Cardinals, meanwhile, nearly spoiled Josh Harris’ debut as the Commanders’ owner in DC - somehow leading going into the 4th despite an offense led by Josh Dobbs. Given those facts, how does Vegas see the Giants as an almost touchdown better than Arizona on the road? One of my biggest rules for sports betting is that if it seems too good to be true, then it is. Give me Saquon Barkley getting on track, leading the Giants to a comfy double digit win.
