Division Talk NFC North

If you are still reading division talk you know I like to have fun writing these. For the division we are talking about today I am going to have the most fun. The NFC North is full of magic and mystery and I for one cannot wait to see it unfold. Are you ready? Good me either!

Chicago Bears:

Someone tell me one good thing about this team not named Justin Fields, Darnell Mooney or David Montgomery. Anybody? Nothing? Exactly. Sorry Bears your destiny is last place in the NFC North and that just life *Insert “That’s Life” by Frank Sinatra*.

Minnesota Vikings:

I really wanted to put the Packers right here I really did. The Vikings could be VERY sneaky this season. New head coach that is offensive minded and arguably the master mind behind Cooper Kupp’s historic season in 2021. Justin Jefferson is already a top 5 receiver in my opinion and we really hate on Kirk Cousins a lot but he really is a good quarterback in the NFL. BUT how consistent can the defense be? There is enough talent on the defense to be great but it seems like they can never string together consistent god performances. I mean every time the Vikings need a stop to win a game they can it seems like they never get it. So 3rd place in the division will be the Vikings fate at the conclusion of the 2022 season.

Green Bay Packers:

I really just want sadness to just loom over this franchise for a couple of years. You guys went from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers and won countless games. Not all at once either just over a span of three years I wan the Packers to slowly fall down the standings until they finish last in the division. Just a long slow decent that everyone can enjoy. It started with Davante Adams being traded which like chefs’ kiss make Aaron Rodgers suffer because let’s be honest Allen Lazard is good, but he is no Adams. Next Rodgers will either leave or retire and then the pain really begins. Here’s the thing. The Packers defense is not good. I don’t get the hype like at al. Jaire Alexander is good not great corner the pass rush is aging and the linebackers are meh. It is going to get tough for the Packers before it gets better. But as of now they are good enough to finish 2nd so that’s where I got em.

Detroit Lions:

That’s right. 1st place. The Lions are the greatest team in football right now and I will hear no slander of this team. Dan Campbell has this team absolutely bought in so much so we will actually see Jared Goff play quarterback and not just hand the ball off then call play-action plays and trick us all into thinking he’s good. Tricked the Rams’ so much that they gave Goff way to much money and had to trade him for Matt Stafford. I am being mean, but I believe in Goff now. He showed flashes of his potential in 2021 and Amon-Ra St. Brown is an actual stud outside the numbers. The running game will be amazing with D’Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams we know that already. Defense will struggle mostly because they are a young group, but I think they will be fun to watch. Plus, Campbell will give us some quotable moments that will electrify us. Best team in football the Lions will warm you heart and make you feel so if you aren’t on the bandwagon TOO LATE, we do not you!
