NFC East Still Undecided?

The New York Football Giants have secured a date with our Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field this Saturday at 8:15pm with their victory over the Minnesota Vikings and “Prime Time Kirk Cousins” last weekend. The Giants have certainly exceeded expectations this year whereas the Eagles have done extremely well as we expected with jalen improving and the new additions from Howie’s AllStar offseason as well as the schedule that they faced this year. The Eagles have won the NFC East yet there is still one divisional matchup ahead as they prep to play the division rival New York Giants essentially leaving the NFC East still up for grabs with all 3 playoff teams still in contention as the Dallas Cowboys are prepping for their own playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers and their hot new QB Brock Purdy.

As for the Eagles matchup this week we are looking at a Giants team coming off a victory against a 13 win Vikings team that had seemingly no defense. The Eagles have a remarkably better defense than the Vikings and its hard to see a Giants team that only scored 40 touchdowns in the regular season putting up the kind of points it will take to bring down the highflying offense that the Eagles have had all season aside from the last 4 games 2 of which were played without our MVP level QB. The Eagles are also entering this game healthier with only two names on the injury report DT Linval Joseph and DE Robert Quinn whereas the Giants have 5 names on theirs 4 of which are defensive backs the Eagles should be able to pass against them. Lastly the Eagles have two of the biggest advantages in football: a great offensive line and quality play at the QB position.

The thought of an all NFC East NFC Championship is intriguing with all three teams knowing each other very well having played twice in the regular season. The only way for this to happen requires the Cowboys to beat the 49ers to then play the winner of Eagles Giants. The 49ers and young gun Brock Purdy just ROLLED over the Seattle Seahawks with Purdy struggling in the first half and battling the first bit of adversity in his young career and bounced back remarkably the Cowboys will certainly have their hands full with that 49ers squad and all of their weapons coupled with a stingy defense.

The Eagles will have to dig deep to win a home NFC Championship matchup but they can do it with Jalen at the helm and the home crowd behind them advancing is not all that far-fetched. Though A divisional opponent in the playoffs isn't ideal at the end of the day the Giants and first year coach Brian Daboll aren't quite ready for a deep run and this isn't 2007. Enjoy the game and hopefully we will see the birds in the NFC Championship next week!
