From Salem to Philadelphia: Welcome Antwuan Rogers

Excited is an understatement for incoming freshman Antwuan Rogers. Coming out of Salem High School located in Salem, NJ, Antwuan comes to Philadelphia and joins the Temple Owls and is currently training for the upcoming 2026 college football season. Measuring at 6’5 260 pounds, the multi-sport athlete clocked 98 total tackles from his senior year. 17 tackles for loss, 23 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries in his last season seems impressive, but Rogers is hungry for more.

When asked about the transition to college football, Antwuan admitted that the competition at Temple is “much more advanced” and noted that there are far fewer opportunities to “take plays off” than there were in high school. “It’s 100% from the first rep to the last rep,” he said. While training throughout the offseason, Antwuan shares that he is mainly focused on his footwork and strength as he admits that he is not the strongest on the field. Temple fans should expect growth and improvement from Antwuan as the offseason progresses and throughout the main season.

Outside of athletics, Antwuan is also adjusting to life as a college student. He shared that college life moves at a much faster pace and has taken some time to get used to, but added that “it was the life I always dreamed of.” Rogers is appreciative of the food selection at Temple and praises the staff and Defensive Line Coach Calhoun for making his experience so far more exciting.

Rogers is approaching his opportunity to play at Temple with a team-first mentality. “My mindset going into my first season is to be available,” he said. “I’m putting in the work to be available wherever I’m needed on the field.” Rogers emphasized that his goals extend beyond personal success and hopes the team reaches a bowl game and gets the AAC chip. Reflecting on his high school career, he credits effort as the biggest lesson he learned. “It’s just something you can’t teach,” Rogers said. “No matter how much you do wrong or right, you’ve got to go one hundred percent.” With expectations high, the 26th state ranked recruit out of New Jersey Antwuan Rogers is eager to begin his journey in Philadelphia and make the most of every opportunity that comes his way.
