In an electrifying matchup at the Wells Fargo Center, the Philadelphia Flyers emerged victorious against the Montreal Canadiens, solidifying their record with a score of 6-4. This game marked the second of three encounters between the two teams this season, with the Flyers now holding a 1-1-0 record against the Canadiens.
Game Highlights
The Flyers took control early, scoring three goals in the first period. Matvei Michkov showcased his exceptional skills, contributing two goals and one assist, marking his 16th multi-point game of the season. This performance extended his point streak to four games, where he has accumulated five points (1g-4a). With his second goal of the night, Michkov continues to lead NHL rookies in goals with 22 and ranks second in points with a total of 54.
Sean Couturier also had a standout performance, netting two goals and adding an assist, bringing his season total to 40 points. This marked his eighth multi-point game of the season and extended his point streak to five games (4g-4a). Meanwhile, Travis Konecny recorded an assist, which was his 45th of the season, setting a new career high with 69 points.
Nicolas Deslauriers found the back of the net for the first time this season, while Tyson Foerster added his 17th goal, further contributing to the Flyers’ offensive onslaught. Bobby Brink, Nick Seeler, Olle Lycksell, Rodrigo Abols, and Jakub Pelletier all provided assists, showcasing the depth of the Flyers’ lineup.
On the Canadiens' side, goals from Alex Newhook, Cole Caufield, David Dvorak, and Patrik Laine kept the game competitive. However, it was not enough to overcome the Flyers' relentless attack.
