Flyers wax the Penguins 2/25/25 by: Corey Welk

The Flyers put on an impressive performance against the Penguins, winning 6-1 at home. Starting with a solid roster featuring Ers, Sanheim, York, Forester, Brink, and Cates, they showcased their offensive prowess and strong defense throughout the game.

Game Breakdown:

1st Period

- The Flyers opened the scoring with a goal from the backdoor faceoff dot, assisted by Zamula and Michkov.

- Cates followed up with a beautiful wrist shot, extending the lead to 2-0 with assists from Brink and Pelletier.

- Shots on goal (SOG) were 14-6 in favor of the Flyers.

2nd Period

- A power play opportunity for the Flyers early in the period didn't yield a goal but resulted in 5 shots on goal.

- The Penguins answered back with a goal from Philip Tomasino, assisted by Bunting and Letang.

- The Flyers responded with another backdoor goal from Tyson Foerster, assisted by Drysdale and Brink.

- By the end of the period, Brink had a goal and 3 assists, Cates had 2 goals and an assist, and Foerster contributed with a goal and 2 assists. SOG were 29-16 for the Flyers.

3rd Period

- The period began with a power play for the Flyers after Bryan Rust was penalized.

- Malkin drew a tripping penalty on Seeler, leading to more action.

- Michkov made a highlight play, setting up Tippett for a backdoor goal, pushing the lead to 6-1.

- The Flyers played keep away for much of the remaining time, showing control over the game with a SOG of 38-23.
