Who are the Eagles?

What is their identity? How will they attack the opposition? These are all huge questions we hope to have answered in the coming weeks as we approach training camp and the pre-season. Last season the team struggled to find its identity until part way through the season as they tried to be a pass happy trendsetting world beating offense, until they found their true strength the run game. This would serve as a huge win for the old school philly faithful “RUN THE BALL” crowd and the team as they ran the ball right into the postseason behind what would come to be recognized as the best offensive line in football. The run game, while helpful and necessary to playing winning football, isn't winning football by itself. This team will need to find other ways to attack opposing defenses, like through the air and with play action. Still though, what can this team's identity be? I think we are best suited to be a team that sets up the pass with the run and utilizes play action. Running early willget other teams to load the box and allow the Eagles to go after big chunk plays especially against aggressive defenses that are sure to bite on the fake after last season's success on the ground. The formula for the Eagles success this season relies heavily on what they can do to maximize the strengths and hide the weaknesses of their quarterback Jalen Hurts. Jalen has struggled with the deep ball and reading defenses thus far in his NFL career, while some improvement is expected it is unrealistic to expect a massive jump in these areas. With thatbeing said they will need to continue to run the ball and scheme open weapons like AJ Brown, Dallas Goedert, and Devonte Smith and allow them to be special and make plays with the ball in their hands in the short to intermediate passing game. With no OTA’s this season the team will need to work hard this camp to build its identity and fortify bonds in the locker room. All the while getting ready for a season with lofty expectations of both the offense and newly revamped defense which is poised to present a challenge in itself with

rotating schemes between the 3-4 and 4-3 fronts. Look out for reports on

how much time they practice through camp in what schemes as we try to

identify what their new “base” package will look like. At the end of the day i

guess you can say we will just have to wait and see and we sure cant wait

for Eagles football!
