AHL around the League
All AHL teams started playing their regular season games this week, and there were some exciting ones at that! There was even a power outage… we are looking at you Utica.
News around the League:
Providence starts off the season as the longest running affiliation at 30 years long. During this 30 year tenure, some popular names have come out of it- Brad Marchand, Tuuka Rask, Patrice Bergeron, and David Pastarnak.
Coachella Valley certainly has a challenging schedule ahead of them with the first 22 games on their schedule “on the road”. 4 games will be in the Seattle Kraken arena. The Coachella Valley Arena- Acrisure Arena- a brand new state of the art venue, will be ready in December. If Coachella can get their legs steady and under them, they should have a good foundation going into the 2nd half the season with 32 of the last 50 games being at home.
Brett Sutter- who is currently signed with the Calgary Wranglers, is poised to play his 1,000th game this season. He will become the 8th player to do such, and currently ranks in at #9 with 974 games played. He is set to reach game number 1,000 on December 21st, 2022 against Ontario Reign.
There are 9 new Head Coaches
