A Turn Around Season?

It has been a full season under K.C. Keller where the Temple Owls finished the 2025 season with an overall record of 5-7. This is a 2 game improvement from the previous season and Keller plans to continue the trend and lead the Owls to a better 2026 season. Having previously won championships at Delaware and Sam Houston, the vision was to bring a winning coach to a program that desperately needed to come back to the spotlight. For the first time in years, there is genuine belief that Temple football may finally be heading in the right direction.

The upcoming season for the Owls is not easy. Taking on schools like Penn State, Army, and South Florida, K.C. Keller and the rest of the staff are working to make sure the team can play competitively. In his latest press conference after Temple’s Cherry and White day, the head coach explains that the program is focused on team discipline and accountability which would in turn result in long term success. From his point of view, the upcoming season is important and games have to be won, however, Keller is also emphasizing the future of the program so that there may be long-term success in Philadelphia.

With incoming freshmen like Josh Nengite, Daron Harris, and Aiden Zilker, Temple continues to strive to collect talent from both within and outside the state of Pennsylvania. How the new recruiting class and transfers will contribute to the Owls is left up to question, however the trend of players coming into Philadelphia showcases the belief that many have in Coach Keller. It has been several seasons since Temple has consistently filled Lincoln Financial Field, but with the direction the program is heading under K.C. Keeler, this year could mark the next step toward rebuilding that level of fan engagement. Uncertainty follows the Owls, but it is certain that the team must prove it is moving in a new direction under K. C. Keeler.
